Entire Punjab will be covered in Sehat Insaf Cards Program in three phases: Health Minister

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed measures to scale up services of Sehat Insaf Card and to achieve the target of Universal Health Coverage in a meeting at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education department here in Lahore.

Present in the meeting were Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Barrister Nabeel Awan, Special Secretary Iqbal Hussain, Additional Secretary Development Asif Tufail, Project Director Punjab Health Initiatives Management Company Khurram Lodhi, representative of State Life and senior officials. Secretary SHME Nabeel Awan presented new suggestions and lessons learnt with the Minister. The Health Minister said, “In accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, universal health coverage will be provided to all Punjab. The health insurance services will be provided to every household in Punjab. The provision of Sehat Insaf Cards will be made possible in three phases. Through Sehat Insaf Cards, the government is trying to provide maximum possible services to every citizen. We have already distributed cards among 5.2 million families. Healthcare is primary responsibility of a state and data of households is being collected in Punjab. Expansion in services of Sehat Insaf Cards is a step forward towards fulfillment of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s promises of quality healthcare and relief for the common man.”

Moreover, Dr. Yasmin Rashid visited Sahulat Bazar in Islampura to monitor the prices and quality of essential commodities. The Minister was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Tabraiz Mari, Ali Amir and notables of the area. The Minister visited different stalls and inquired from the visitors about their experience on quality and prices of the items.
