LAHORE: The United States (US) has voiced
concerns over the re
lease of Hafiz Saeed from house arrest on the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC).
“The United States is deeply
concerned that Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) leader Hafiz Seed has been released from house arrest in Pakistan,” State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a statement on Friday.
The US, who had offered $10 million as an award for information that co
uld lead to Saeed’s arrest urged Pakistan government to arrest
and charge him.
“The Pakistani government sh
ould make sure that he is arrested
and charged for his crimes,” State Department spokesperson said.
US had also declared Hafiz Saeed a “global terrorist”.
